Zahid Akthar(University of Pune, India) Zahid Akhtar got a M.Sc degree in Electronics at the University of Pune (India) in 2005. From Jan. 2008 to Jan. 2009 he joined PRA Group for a one-year fellowship awarded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (under a memorandum with the Indian Republic Ministry for Science and Technology for financing research fellowships for young Indian researchers). He was working on a project related to form processing. His objective was to develop methods for form removal and character reconstruction. |

Pajas Gupta(Jaipur, India)Pajas Gupta got a Bachelor of Technology in Communication and Computer Engineering at the LNM Institute of Information Technology Deemed University, Jaipur, India. At present he is a PhD student at the School of Information Systems, Singapore Management University. During his stay in Cagliari, he worked on the implementation of "HTTPGuard: A multi-model Web Intrusion Detection System". In particular, he developed the programming interfaces between our intrusion detection engine and "ModSecurity" (http://www.modsecurity.org), a popular, open-source web application firewall. |

Mahdi Hariri(Iran University of science and Technology, Tehran,Iran) Visiting period: September 2009 - March 2010 Mahdi Hariri received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees with honors in Electronic Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT) and Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) in 2001 and 2004 respectively. Currently he is a PhD student at Iran University of Science and Technology. He is a member of IEEE region 8.His research interests include image processing, pattern recognition, Multiple Calssifiers, intelligence network and its applications in pattern recognition & biometrics. |

Radovan Holik(Tomas Bata University, Zlin, Czech Republic) Visiting period: June 2011 - September 2011 Radovan Holik is a B.Sc student at the Tomas Bata University of Zlin. From June to September 2011 he joined the PRA Group for a three months Erasmus Internship. He is working on the development of textual files classification tools for Computer Forensics applications.

Neelakshi Joshi(Mumbai, India) Neelakshi Joshi got a M.Sc. in Physics at the University of Mumbai (India) in 2003, and an Advanced Diploma Programme in Modeling and Simulation at the Center for Modeling and Simulation of the University of Pune (India), in 2007. From Jan. 2008 to Jan. 2009 she joined PRA Group for a one-year fellowship awarded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (under a memorandum with the Indian Republic Ministry for Science and Technology for financing research fellowships for young Indian researchers). She is working on methods for text extraction from images. |

Daniel Lowd(University of Washington, Seattle, WA, USA)Daniel Lowd visited the PRA Group in July 2008, when he was a fifth-year graduate student in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Washington. His research interests are focused on statistical relational learning, recommender systems, spam filtering, and machine learning in general. He is also the recipient of graduate research fellowships from the National Science Foundation and Microsoft Research. During his visit at PRA Group he gave a seminar on adversarial machine learning (see the section 'Teaching' of this web site). |

Jun-Ming Sui(Department of Computer Science and Technology, Nanjing University,China)Jun-Ming Sui visited PRA Group from October to December 2008, when he was a second year graduate student in Computer Science at the Nanjing University and a member of LAMDA Group, led by professor Zhi-Hua Zhou. His research interests include some sub-fields of Artificial Intelligence: Machine learning, Pattern recognition and Data mining, and in particular Semi-supervised Learning and Statistical Relational Learning. During his visit at PRA Group. Jun-Ming worked on active learning and semi-supervised learning techniques applied to spam filtering. |
