Luca Piras

Luca Piras received the M.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Cagliari in july 2007 discussing a thesis concerning Techniques of Relevance Feedback for image retrieval with noise injection. He joined the research Group on Pattern Recognition and Applications as PhD student in the Computer Science field at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the University of Cagliari (Italy). Between April and October 2010 Luca Piras carried out an internship at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, Spain, as part of his Ph.D. course. Luca Piras obtained the Ph.D. degree and the certificate of European Doctorate in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the University of Cagliari, Italy, in 2011.

Since March 2012 he is research associate at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the University of Cagliari and his research topic is on analysis and automatic classification of multimedia documents.
