Laura Farci

Laura Farci gained a MSc degree in Physics from the University of  Cagliari (Italy) where she graduated in 2004. Her final MSc thesis was about “The development and optimization of an algorithm to reconstruct and visualize tomographic images in 3D”.

While she was a student at The University of Cagliari she also worked as a scientific entertainer at several science festivals in Cagliari.

From 2004 to 2007 she attended the SSIS School ,a post graduate course to gain qualified teacher status.This enabled her to teach mathematics, physics and computer science in secondary schools where she has been working since 2005.

In 2008 she was awarded a Second Level Master Degree in Science Communication by the University of  Cagliari and during this period she took up an internship at the University of Cagliari where she worked at the press office. The work placement focused on the communication of scientific research to the general public and included interviews, press releases, articles and in depth charts; furthermore she started writing a science column for the university website.
In January 2012 she joined the Pattern Recognition and Applications Group as a Public Relation Manager.
