Pattern Recognition and Applications Group

PRA Group works on the development of next generation pattern recognition systems for real applications such as biometric authentication, text categorization, and intrusion detection in computer networks.

PRA mission is to address fundamental issues for the development of future pattern recognition systems, in the context of real applications.

IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing

The paper titled "Early Detection of Malicious Flux Networks via Large-Scale Passive DNS Traffic Analysis" by Dr. Igino Corona and Prof. Giorgio Giacinto is going to appear on the IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing. Congratulations!

Visiting Professor

Prof. Arnold Smeulders

Prof. Arnold Smeulders from the University of Amsterdam will visit PRA group from April 26 to May 4. From April 26, Prof. Smeulders will also give three lectures titled "Image and Video Search". More info about the lectures are available here.

Summer School - Building Trust in the Information Age

PRA Group has organized for the next summer a school entitled "Building Trust in the Information Age". The school will be held in Cagliari from August 27 to 31. Lectures of the School will be Prof. Lorenzo Cavallaro (University of London), Prof. Pierangela Samarati (University of Milan), Prof. Dawn Song (UC Berkeley), and Prof. Edgar Weippl (TU Wien).  Registrations  are now open.
