Pattern Recognition and Applications Group

PRA Group works on the development of next generation pattern recognition systems for real applications such as biometric authentication, text categorization, and intrusion detection in computer networks.

PRA mission is to address fundamental issues for the development of future pattern recognition systems, in the context of real applications.

Prof. Roli - Achievements

Two notable achievements for Prof. Roli. IEEE elevated him to the grade of Fellow, and VIA Academy added him to the TIS (Top Italian Scientists) list.

Visiting Professor - Dr. Lukasz Slabinski

Dr. Lukasz Slabinski of the Informatics and Communication department, University of Economic in Katowice (Poland), will be visiting PRA group for 6 months starting on Monday February 6.

Visiting Professor - Dr. Abdenour Hadid

Dr. Abdenour Hadid of the Machine Vision Group, University of Oulu, in Finland visits PRA group in December. On December 15, Prof. Hadid will also give a lecture titled "Image and Video Description using Local Binary Patterns". More info about the lecture are available here.
