The Laboratory of Ambient Intelligence was born and developed within the District of ICT in Sardinia - Sardinia District-which aims to foster collaboration between private and public research centers and companies of the tech area, through creating an integrated system that makes Sardinia an innovative and competitive actor of technological international development.

The District, whom includes nine technological laboratories, is intended as places of open collaboration between companies and research and innovation system to stimulate new ventures and the development of innovative technologies.

As the others laboratories, the Ambient Intelligence Laboratory will enhance the technological equipment and know-how in the district to serve all those involved.
From these laboratories will be born the main impetus for the development of applied research and exploitation of scientific results in industry: in this sense, the laboratories will operate as startup operators of new enterprises with high technological content.
